SUMMARY:Dragons Swansea\, Men - 18/19 July
DESCRIPTION:Update 7th July:  Sorry to say that many of the Thistles regulars who would have attended are committed to training schedules for the World Cup which is in August.  After the re-marketing failed to produce a full squad I contacted Dragons and agreed to pass on the names of those interested in combining with Dragons to still enjoy the weekend but not in a blue shirt. If anyone else is still interested in playing as part of a Dragons team then please email me. \n———– \nThis is a regular Thistles event; great social and very enjoyable on the two quality astros at Swansea University Sports Park.  This is an “Open” event though a little fairness will be needed if heavily oversubscribed. \n– Date: CONFIRMED Saturday 18th July 10am to Sunday 19th July 4pm. \n– Venue:  Pitches are at King George V Playing Fields SA2 9AU.   The Sketty Lane entrance SA2 8QB is for the university building and the large overflow car park. \n– Teams:  Mixed age and ability teams from across out Sixties Plus age groups with scope for possible under-agers \n– Opposition: Dragons (2 or 3)\, LX (2)\, Gatfers and other west of England. \n– Format:  Multiple 50 mins matches. \nThere is either a dinner on the Saturday evening at the University or a BBQ at the pitch pavilion. \nSingle room accommodation at the adjacent halls of residence (walking distance to ground but all single rooms) at £TBA + VAT per person per night for Friday and Saturday nights or only Saturday night is available if notified in advance. There are many hotels to choose from in Swansea and the Mumbles area. \nUse the  Submit button to register and once an Event Coordinator is appointed registration can also be done by contacting him.

DESCRIPTION:26th July update.  Sorry but with so much hockey this year there has not been sufficient interest to keep this event open for us.  Even LX may be struggling to raise sufficient interest and the event may be postponed to next year. \n———————– \nJersey is a favourite mixed-age social hockey event (fierce on-pitch\, high interaction off) which Thistles has attended for the last two years.  Games Saturday and Sunday with the possiblity of Friday.  There is an advised hotel and good social opportunities in the evenings. \nDate:  Friday 4th to Sunday 6th September.  Times shown are suggested only and to be updated. \nVenue: Jersey with teams all encouraged to stay together at the Hotel de France in St Helier. \nTeams:  A broad spread of ages \nOpposition:  Jersey based team\, two LX social teams\, possibly Dragons. \nFormat:  Flexible to fit the teams attending. \nPlease register by clicking the Submit button.  Once an Event Coordinator is appointed registration can also be done via him.

DESCRIPTION:Our M60s have been invited to a Four Nations B event (Tier 3/4) in Worcester 12th to 14th September.  Recruitment for this is being handled by direct contact with Carlos thus there is no “Apply For” page or “Submit” button.  For visibility on the website I’ve raised this future “Commit To” event page.  Once the squad it finalised this page will form the Commit To\, will be password protected and submit button added. \nThe “Commit To” page is needed: to have a formal list of squad names who each commit to the financials and procedures for the event; to keep the Treasurer\, Secretary and President up to date and as the basis for the proposed insurance for 2027. \n  \nThe above is for information only and there is no SUBMIT button at the moment
