Playing Kit

STANDARD PLAYING KIT:

----->   "Blue - Blue - Blue"

Thistles own-logo dark shirt, dark blue shorts and dark blue socks

----->   Change is "White - White - Red"

Thistles own-logo white shirt, plain white shorts and plain red socks and often mixed with the blue kit.

Sorry, you are not allowed to play in the Scottish Hockey New Balance or Osaka kit - wrong colour of blue, wrong club and against WMH rules.  For WMH sanctioned events your kit must be identical to the photos we are required to provide on our registration or you will not be allowed on the pitch.

 

SHIRTS/VEST

Our own logo dark blue Thistles branded shirt/vest with a unique number added by the Kit Coordinator.  Change: same in white.  These are ordered especially for you via the Shirt Order Form using the button above.  They do not come from the Stevensons shop.

  1. Only "Scottish Thistles Masters HC" logo shirts.  All previous shirts (e.g. Scotland LX) have to be retired.
  2. New Members:  Both the shirts, at the first time of ordering, are at a combined subsidised price of £20 (plus P&P).
  3. The Thistles Shirt sizing chart can be found here.  Honesty moment:  in t-shirts I am a large 40in with a bit of a dad-bod belly.  The Thistles shirts have no stretch and the 42in fits me well enough.
  4. The shirts are made to order with the number allocated to you in the size you choose.  If you order the wrong size then the replacement will be at full price.
  5. For all events: always bring both shirts.

SHORTS/SKORT

Our own logo dark blue Canterbury brand shorts/skort.  Change: Canterbury brand white shorts/skort.  These can be ordered from the Thistles Stevensons shop - click on the button above.

  1. Every members should have the new dark blue branded shorts, the overlap period of the old kit has now ended.
  2. White shorts are a pain.  At festivals we only use the blue ones.  At WMH events we have to take the white ones but we've never been asked to play in the them, so for the moment any plain white shorts will be fine.

SOCKS

Plain Dark Blue socks.  Change: Plain Red socks.  Sometimes for hot events: Plain White socks.  Plain means single colour with nothing other than the maker's logo.

  1. Our recommended socks come from the Thistles Stevensons shop.  However please ask your Age Group Coordinator for the current supply situation and alternatives.
  2. For red socks most Scottish based players have red socks for their Saturday club and provided they are plain (makers logo only) these will do fine.
  3. Your squad may decide to use white socks (plain except maker's mark) - not our chosen colour but the Thistles approach is flexible so long as you all have the same.
  4. For WMH sanctioned events only the official socks can be worn.  Wacky socks (flags, thistles etc) can only appear at festivals with a buy-much-beer tag attached.

Thistles Stevensons Kit Shop

Stevensons acquired PSL some years back and have now standardised on this corporate name along with their internal brand name "Custom Athletics" and a new logo.  Anything with Stevensons, Stevensons/XXV and Custom Athletics means you are in the correct place.

Thistles playing shirts are ordered using the Shirt Order Form,

the Thistles Stevensons shop handles everything else.

Regarding the Thistles Stevenson shop: all the Thistles items are shown via the button link above.  If you use the Stevensons menu or search you will land on their generic stock, not the Thistles offering.  All matters of ordering and supply from Stevensons are between you as an individual and Stevensons and does not involve Thistles.

  1. The sizing chart for the items sold in the Thistles shop can be found here - sizing chart Canterbury (external link, opens in a new tab).
  2. Sometimes the web images have used the identical kit from another club - you'll get the Thistles version.
  3. The socks are marked "male" because that is what Canterbury call them, not our choice.

Notes on Sourcing Your Shirts and Other Kit

HALBRO and Stevensons:  Shirts are sourced via us from Halbro using the Shirt Order Form.  For all other kit (shorts, socks, tracksuits etc) please order personally from our Thistles Stevensons Shop.

NEWLY JOINED:  A heavily subsidised £20 (plus P&P) to get both the Thistles shirt colours is available to new members.  Use the form to be allocated a shirt number that you will keep for your Thistles playing journey.

GOAL KEEPERS:  Smocks are Orange and Green and your first set of smocks are free.  Sizing of smocks is not straight forward so please email and discuss with Chris.  Regarding smock number: for WMH events all GKs need a unique number, sorry but numero uno is long gone.  If you also wish playing shirts then the first set is as if Newly Joined.

REPLACEMENT:  These are not subsidised and are the current price per single shirt (£31.14 each at Sept 25).  For replacement GK smocks please enquire by email to Chris or use the Shirt Order Form and state that it is replacement and include your existing Thistles shirt number.

DELIVERY:  Shirts/Vests are not kept in stock.  Chris arranges ordering a new batch and there is anything up to a six week lead time.  Once available they can be collected at an event or sent to you for current post and packing (£6.60 at Sept 2024).  If the event date is close and you need to borrow a shirt/vest please advise the Event Coordinator and what size.
