Bra Replacement Tournament
Firstly, can we thank Graham Conkie, John Michalik and Graham Small of England L.X for pulling this together after the Covid problems with Bra.
Two Thistles mixed age teams took part in the Saturday event: Thistles White and Blue. The white team had a mixed day, winning the first game against 'Midlands 65s' two one with goals from Jim Watson and Rob Campbell. The next game was against England LX red and a much tougher game, although Thistles more than held their own and were unlucky not to have at least drawn the game. They won 2-1, again a goal from Rob Campbell, the captain. One of the goals for LX was scored by a 50 year old player, but sometimes we need to be a bit flexible to make teams up for these informal events. Thistles Blue report to come, although they lost their two games.
Thistles Blue report can be accessed here.

Saturday evening was spent at the Newport rugby Club with a really good BBQ produced by Quinney. Keith Quinney is a goalkeeper of note (and volume) and a very good chef. We all enthusiastically watched the football on the big screen and consumed some beer and very generous measures of red wine.
Sunday
Sunday we were split into four mixed squads involving various of the LX Lionesses ladies teams. Point of note: LX ladies said they would be delighted if one day soon our own Scottish Thistles Ladies attend tournaments like this.
